Each shade is hand-blown clear glass, open at the bottom, so no two are exactly identical and the light falls straight down out of the open end. Clear glass keeps the fixture light and airy on the wall rather than heavy. It also means the bulb is visible, so a warm candelabra bulb becomes part of the look, and an open-bottom shade throws a more direct light than a frosted one would.

The frame comes in Brass, Black, or Polished Nickel, and each finish is made in all three sizes. Warm brass suits a soft, traditional room, black is graphic, and polished nickel is cool and clean, which works well in a bathroom.
