Most ceiling lights make one decision for you: straight down, forever. The Drift's arm swings a full 270 degrees, so the light lands where the living happens. Over the sofa at night, over the bed for reading, centred when the whole room needs to be lit.

The shade is optical-grade acrylic rather than glass, and that is a choice, not a compromise. It is light enough for the arm to swing smoothly and hold its angle, far more forgiving than glass if it ever takes a knock, and it diffuses the LED into an even wash with no harsh hotspot to catch your eye.

The integrated LED renders colour at CRI 98+, which is about as close to daylight as artificial light gets. Wood reads as wood. A green sofa is actually green. Skin looks like skin instead of the flat, grey cast cheaper fixtures leave behind.

A guide, not a rule. Rooms with dark walls or high ceilings need more light, and task areas like a kitchen counter are best layered with under-cabinet or task lighting.

Dimming needs a Triac (leading-edge) dimmer switch, sold separately. Standard rotary dimmers are not compatible and can flicker. On an ordinary on/off switch it simply runs at full warm brightness.

Acrylic is light enough for the arm to swing smoothly and hold its angle, it's far more forgiving than glass if it ever takes a knock, and its high-transmittance diffusion spreads the LED evenly with no harsh hotspot. Glass this size would be heavy enough to make a swing arm impractical.
The arm rotates 270° left and right, so you can aim the light almost anywhere in the room. The hanging height is fixed at installation and cannot be adjusted afterwards — it swings, it doesn't drop.
Yes, with a Triac (leading-edge) dimmer switch, sold separately. Standard rotary dimmers are not compatible and may cause flicker. Wired to an ordinary on/off switch it simply runs at full warm 3000K brightness.
Yes — it installs on slopes of up to 30° with no adapter and no extra parts to buy. Beyond 30° we'd recommend a different fixture.
