What arrives, and what you will also need
We would rather you knew before you ordered than found out on the doorstep. Here is the honest split.

Clear glass leaves the bulb on show and throws a hard, directional light, which is unforgiving on a face. Milk glass is opaque, so the shade itself becomes the light source and spreads it evenly across the width of the fixture. Above a mirror that is the whole job: even light, no hard shadow under the chin, nothing to squint at.

The milk and frosted tones are opaque, so the shade diffuses the light evenly and you do not see the bulb. Clear does not diffuse: the bulb is visible through it and the light is sharper and more directional. If you want soft, flattering light above a mirror, choose one of the milk tones.
